I offer whole-process support, using a proven framework to coach you through the three stages of book development: Creating the Blueprint, Crafting the Book Proposal and Preparing & Making the Pitch.
Whole-process means guidance, accountability, creative collaboration, emotional support, editorial feedback, writing skills and project management. This is so you feel comfortable, confident and reassured that you will not only be putting your best work out there, but that you also have a cheerleader who’s backing you the whole way.
What is it? Answers to the key questions that give you total clarity on what your book is really about, why it matters, who it’s for and exactly where it will sit on the shelf.
What you get: you’ll pin your big idea to the page and build out the entire structure of your book including a chapter template, Table of Contents and Book Cover copy. You’ll develop a crystal-clear outline so you can see the complete shape of your book on less than 10 pages.
How we work together: you complete the 14 steps of the Blueprint Workbook over a series of 3 deadlines. You get margin comments, an editorial letter and a Video Call for each. My feedback highlights your book’s strengths along with specific areas that need attention, and actionable next steps for you to take.
What happens next? You’ll be ready to move on to the Book Proposal where you build on this work to prepare your book for the marketplace.
This is an 8-12 week programme. Allow 25-50 hours to complete and expect to do revisions.
What is it? It is NOT a finished book. It is the process that prepares your book for the marketplace so that an agent or publisher can understand unequivocally the entire scope of your book, why your readers need it now, and how to get it into their hands.
What you get: a finished Book Proposal that includes two chapters of your best writing so you have a complete package ready to pitch to an agent or publisher.
How we work together: you complete the Book Proposal over 3 deadlines. You get margin comments, an Editorial Letter and a Video Call for each deadline. My feedback highlights the Proposal’s strengths along with specific areas that need attention, along with actionable next steps.
Then, you draft two sample chapters over 2 deadlines. You receive margin comments, an editorial letter and a Video Call for each.
What happens next? You’ll be ready to prepare and make your pitch to agents and publishers.
This is a 3-4 month programme. Allow 40-60 hours to complete and expect to do revisions.
What is it? Strategising and actioning your path to publishing. The process of researching and identifying right-fit agents and publishers for you and your book, strategising your approach, crafting your Query Letter and sending it out.
What you get: understanding the paths to publishing, a selection of 40 agents and publishers worldwide hand-selected for you, a comprehensive strategy for approaching them, a polished Query Letter that you get into their hands.
How we work together: you receive a pitch guide that shows you how to write a Query Letter. You write and submit a draft. I edit it with feedback and actionable next steps.
I research and hand-select 40 prospective agents for you to pitch. I send you an Agent spreadsheet with the 40 prospects. You review the list.
We have a Strategy Call to discuss and agree your Pitch Strategy. You revise the Query Letter and send it out.
What happens next? You wait for a response. You use this time to finish writing your book. (I offer Coaching the Draft on request).
